Breaking Fences (The Breaking Series, #2)
by Juliana Haygert
Genre: NA contemporary romance
Word Count: ~80,000
Release date: June/2014
Cover by: Okay Creations

Summary from Goodreads:

All Beatriz “Bia” Fernandes wants is to prove herself—to her family and friends—though it’s hard to prove anything with an overbearing father and three famous polo-playing older brothers. After her acceptance into college results in a heated family argument, the Brazilian girl leaves everything behind to find her own American dream.

College life away from home is perfect until the people she believes to be her friends turn on her. With lies and rumors threatening to suffocate her, Bia turns to her only freedom. Riding.

But one thing gets in the way of her escape. Garrett Blackwell and his bad cowboy attitude. Working at the ranch is his obligation, bugging Bia is his newfound hobby. His thick skin and easy grin don’t hide what Bia already knows—this misunderstood and lonely cowboy fights his own demons. Brushing horses’ coats and mucking out stalls shouldn’t be this sexy, and it isn’t long before he becomes a part of her distraction.

However, escaping won’t solve her problems, and it’s up to Bia to break down the fences around her and prove her strength—not to her family and friends, but to herself … and for Garrett. Because standing on her own doesn’t have to mean standing alone.

PIECES OF IT ALL: Cover Reveal

It’s hard to believe the cover reveal for Pieces of it All is already here! I’ve been anxious to show everyone the cover. I must have reviewed hundreds of stock photos before finding what I was looking for. Soft color and something a little less traditional was my goal. My awesome author friend, S.J. Pajonas, offered to design the cover for me. I love the simplicity of what she did.

Here is the cover. I hope you love it!

Released has finally been … released!

If you don’t know who S.J. Pajonas is, you’re about to find out. She released her first book, Removed, in September, and now three months later, book 2 of the Nogiku Series has been released. It’s title? Released. And it will leave you wanting MORE!

I was so lucky to receive an advance copy of this book. I loved Removed and could not wait to read Released. Pajonas has strong characters that you root for the entire way. I can’t recall off the top of my head a female character as strong as Sanaa in my recent reads. You can read my full review here.

Here is the information on this book, RELEASED TODAY!!!

RELEASED – Book TWO of the Nogiku Series

Available December 17, 2013

Blurb:

** This blurb contains spoilers if you have not read REMOVED

Left in the desert to recuperate from her injuries, Sanaa Itami paces the floors and contemplates her mistakes. She trusted too easily, and now people she loved are dead, killed at the hands of men coming to assassinate her. Sanaa feels beaten, but life awaits her at home. While Nishikyō recovers from the earthquake, negotiations for Sanaa’s eventual rule on Yūsei continue. New allies must be made, new friendships brokered, new skills acquired — at all costs.

Life at the top of the chain is complicated and lonely, though. With relations in Sakai clan rocky and uncertain, Sanaa must learn to trust others again more than she’s willing. Who amongst the clans is left holding a grudge? And will the new family Sanaa has found with Jiro support or betray her?

From Nishikyō to Yūsei, RELEASED, Book TWO of the Nogiku Series, is the second book in a captivating New Adult post-apocalyptic romance series that harnesses the cultures and traditions of Japan and sweeps them into the future between Earth and a faraway land.

Released by S.J. Pajonas: Book Review

If there is one thing I love and admire about S.J. Pajonas, it’s her ability to paint the best picture possible of a strong, independent woman.

I received an ARC of Released in exchange for an honest review. Having read and loved Removed, I was bouncing off the walls at a chance to read Released before many others 🙂

In Removed, Pajonas left us salivating to see what was going to happen with Sanaa. We quickly find out as she dives right in on Book 2. This book was full of action and adventure … it read like a science fiction cat and mouse chase. The author’s descriptions left me living in the moment, playing out scene by scene in my head. This book definitely added more to the science fiction element than Removed, but just as in Removed, it was easy to follow. Pajonas is able to sneak the science in and make it understandable – even for those of us that received a final grade of D in Science 🙂

Let us not forget that this is not only Science Fiction, but a New Adult Romance. Jiro and Sanaa’s relationship grows and the sex between them is intense. I’d be hard pressed to find a reader that didn’t fall in love with Jiro.

Whether you read this book for the Sci-Fi or the romance, I urge you to pick it up and read it for the strong woman that Sanaa is. She shows incredible strength when it is needed, but isn’t afraid to let her guard down with Jiro (mostly). She is a woman who knows what she wants. I think every woman who reads this book can see themselves in Sanaa at some point in the novel.

When I started Released, I thought I would be a bigger fan of Removed. I tend to prefer Book 1 of most series. But by the end of this book, Released is easily my favorite in the series so far. I’m not giving anything away, but the ending of this book will leave you blown away and biting your nails until Book 3 is released.

If you haven’t read Removed, pick it up here before the December 17 release of Released.

You can follow S.J. on Twitter here (and if you are an aspiring author, specifically Self Pub, I highly recommend it). Tell her @tkrimms sent you 🙂
